Bulletin for April 2nd, 2017

Welcome to Community Church! Today, Pastor Dave helps us to continue reflecting on this Lenten season as we focus on the cross and our understanding of it.

This Evening, our service will focus on sharing updates from the prayer conference this past week and spending time in prayer together. May God bless our worship of Him today!

Congregational Meeting: This morning around 10:15 AM there will be a brief Congregational Meeting to vote on the proposal to purchase the property at 156 Wilbur SE for additional parking. Absentee ballots should be in an envelope with the member’s name on the outside of the envelope.

Vacation: Pastor Dave and Sandi will be on vacation next week and will be going out east to see Ryan. If a need comes up, please contact Pastor Ezra, Bonnie Thomas or one of the Elders. Pastor Dave will be back in the office on Tuesday, April 11.

Good Friday and Easter Services: Good Friday Communion Service will be held on Friday, April 14 at 7:00 PM. On Easter Sunday we will have our normal Sunday schedule with our two morning worship services at 9 and 11:30 AM. There will be no evening Easter Service.

Classis Church Visitors will be attending April’s Council Meeting on Tuesday, April 11 at 7:00 PM. This is an opportunity for the Classis representatives to inquire on the ministry at Community and to encourage us in what we are doing. If anyone should have anything to share with the church visitors, please contact Pastor Dave to be placed on the agenda.

Spring Craft Fair at Community Church on April 29, 9 AM to 3 PM. More than 35 booths selling crafts and goods, such as woodwork, jewelry, hair accessories, candles, pet items, glass, and knit, crocheted, and embroidered items. Plus vendors from Scenty, Avon, Simply Tastefull, and Norwex. Plan to come by and browse – invite your family, friends & coworkers!

Please Pray For The Persecuted: Christians in many countries have become refugees. A refugee had paid a smuggler to take his son from Syria to Europe where he would be safe. He later learned that his son had died on the journey. Broken hearted, the father was ready to commit suicide. He was invited to the church where, by God’s grace, he responded to the gospel and came to Christ weeping, “out of death there is new life.” Pray for God’s protection for all the persecuted.

Bike & Hike Festival For Life: SATURDAY, MAY 6 from 11AM to 3PM at Johnson Park in Walker. This family-friendly event includes a free picnic lunch, children’s activities, a spring plant sale, and a trail for biking & hiking. Participants have until May 19 to submit pledges to be eligible for prizes such as gift cards to Michigan’s Adventure, Whitecaps baseball, Craig’s Cruisers, and Celebration! Cinemas. Those who turn in pledges of $100 or more at the event will receive a free t-shirt. For a pledge sheet visit www.grrtl.org/BikeHike or call 532-2300 or email info@grrtl.org.
