Welcome to Community Church! We are continuing our series on 1 Peter with the theme: Following In His Steps as we look at Chapter 1. We will go deeper in our study of Chapter 1 as we meet for our evening service tonight. May God bless our worship and study of His Word today!
Next Sunday, we will be witnessing the profession of faiths at our 9 AM service of Cara Bruining, Carol Duron, and Joseph Roy. We are thankful for the way God has worked in their lives bringing them to this special step in their faith.
Kathy D. would like to thank the church family for their continued prayers as she continues her cancer treatment. Earlier this week she received test results showing her largest tumor has shrunk, however several tumors remain unchanged. She has three more weeks of chemo followed by a monthly maintenance treatment. Let’s give thanks for the positive change in the large tumor and pray that God will work within in her body to further shrink or eliminate all her tumors. Chemotherapy is very draining on the body, so let us pray that God would also bless her body with energy and appetite.
1. The Council met this past Tuesday and heard the profession of faiths of Cara Bruining, Carol Duron and Joseph Roy and is thankful for the way that God has worked in their lives. We look forward to hearing their public profession of faith on Sunday, February 5.
2. The Council was thankful to receive an acceptance letter from Pastor Ezra and response to the congregation’s approval last summer of having Pastor Ezra continue his ministry with us through June, 2018. May God continue to bless Pastor Ezra and his family as they serve at Community Church!

If you are interested in attending or have questions about this small group, please speak with Pastor Ezra or Nicole Harris. Pastoral Care Visits: If you have God-given gifts of compassion and if you would be willing to make visits to the elderly, to shut-ins and those in the hospital, please contact Bonnie T. Prayer Room, located across from the Godwin Room, is a great place to meditate, pray or read a Bible! This cozy room has a Scripture Apron on the wall near the door which holds small cards with scripture that you may take to help you with your prayer time or pass along to someone. The Prayer Room is open any time the church is open for those who desire a quiet time with God; or join others for prayer Wednesdays at 7 PM or Sundays at 10:15 AM. If you have a need or thanksgiving that you would like our prayer groups to pray for, you may write it down and leave it on the table in the prayer room or in the bottom row of the Prayer Apron.
BoxTop$ For North Godwin Ministry: Clip & save BoxTop$ for Education labels; bring them to church and leave them in the box on the table in the lobby.

Prayers For The Persecuted: In a southeast communist Asian nation with many tribes, great numbers of people have been turning to Christ, in particular the Hmong and Khmu people. Frontline workers take great risk to baptize new believers in this area, witnessing police raid village churches and confiscate Bibles and beating & arresting believers. Even with this persecution, believers cannot keep quiet about what God is doing in their lives & the lives of others! Let’s lift the persecuted in prayer.
