Bulletin for March 5th, 2017

Welcome to Community Church! We are continuing our series on Following In His Steps as Pastor Dave helps us look at 1 Peter 5. May God bless our study of this important book and our worship of Him today!

Informational Meeting Today Between The Morning Services: The Council will be holding an informational meeting between our morning services, starting about 10:15 AM, in the sanctuary to share more information about the proposal to purchase property on Wilbur for parking and to answer questions. Everyone is encouraged to stay and be a part of this discussion.

This evening on the first Sunday of Lent, Pastor Dave will help us through a time of self-examination for ourselves and for our church as we reflect on what this season of Lent is meant to help us with. Come tonight for this prayer service that will help us grow in Him!

Next Sunday: Turn Your Clocks ahead one hour: Everyone is reminded that next weekend we need “spring ahead” by turning our clocks an hour ahead when we go to sleep on Saturday. Doing this will help you make it to Sunday’s worship services on time!

– Our Christian sympathy is extended to Paul & Mary Y. at the recent passing of Mary’s father. May you be encouraged by the love and strength of our Lord and Father during this difficult time.
– Judy M. would like to express her appreciation to everyone who remembered her with cards, calls, texts and prayer during her time of isolation following her radiation treatment.
-Daniel V. also expressed his thankfulness for those that remembered him with cards, words of encouragement and prayer following his recent surgery and recovery.

Church Outing to see ‘The Shack’… The movie came out this past weekend which is a fictional story of a grieving father who meets a personified God the Father, Jesus the Son, and Holy Spirit. On Weds evening, March 15 there will be a group going from the church to Celebration South- the tentative movie time is 6:45 and the cost of tickets will be $5. There’s a powerful message of healing in the movie but it needs to be seen with discernment. If you would like a ticket reserved for you, please sign up on the sheet in the church lobby.

Friday Night Softball League: Arrangements are being made for this summer’s coed slow-pitch softball team. Those interested in playing on Community’s team should sign up on the table in the lobby. Please note that each player must have a CAC membership. You may purchase your membership through their website, www.cacgr.org, or by stopping by the CAC’s Pro Shop!

Please join local Christians as they pray in front of 320 Fulton in downtown GR, usually Thursday mornings at 11 AM. Questions? Contact Bonnie Thomas.

Please Pray for The Persecuted: Voice of the Martyrs, an organization which helps the persecuted, shares the following testimony. Inzali, is a brave Burmese Christian woman who sees God’s grace at work among those culturally opposed to the Gospel. A man who reported her for sharing the Gospel developed lung disease. He confessed his sin to Inzali in hope that it would appease her God. Inzali offered the man her forgiveness and shared the gospel with him. He had not seen a doctor, so as an expression of Christ’s love, she took him to the hospital. He later became a believer.

DESERT. a good Samaritan story, will be performing at DeVos Center for Arts and Worship March 11 & 12 at 3 PM with a free preview on March 10 at 6:30 PM.
