Bulletin for May 14th, 2017

Welcome to Community Church! Our series of messages are focusing on Building Blocks Of Our Faith which will help us reflect on who we grow in our relationship with God Through our faith in Jesus Christ. Our theme today is I Have Hope which is necessary for our spiritual growth. Please note there is no evening service at Community tonight because of Mother’s Day.

Today, during the Sunday School Hour, all children from Pre-K thru 7th grade are invited to a special Mother’s Day activity in the upstairs old sanctuary. This will be in place of class time.

Sub Sale: Those that participated in our sub sale fundraiser are reminded to pick up your orders this Thursday at 5:30PM in the Godwin Room.

South Godwin Neighborhood Association Meeting: Thursday at 6:30PM at Community Church. If you live in the church neighborhood, you are encouraged to attend. This is a great opportunity to meet your neighbors and help make a difference in the community! Free pizza supper included (adults only please!)

Wanting More in Our Walk With Jesus – Pentecost 2017. On Thursday, May 25, we will kick off our Pentecost 2017 series Celebrating, Growing, and Anticipating more of the Holy Spirit with a pizza supper at 6:00 PM and Ascension Day Prayer and Worship time beginning around 6:45 PM! Plan on coming for this time of fellowship and worship!

Beginning Memorial Weekend, Sunday, May 28, we will start on summer worship schedule with one morning service at 10 AM. Please make a point of adjusting your schedule for the summer months.

Need a ride to church, the doctor, or pharmacy? If yes, perhaps church volunteers can help! If you need a ride please contact Pat B.

Please pray for the persecuted: A man of God in prison for his faith states, “It is only with thanks that I can explain the amazing joy with which the Lord fills me.” It is hard to imagine a person experiencing such joy and purpose while sitting in prison under extremely harsh conditions. In Eritrea, Christians have been locked in shipping containers, left to swelter in extreme heat; however nothing sidelines their ministry work. Thankfully they continue to see God’s sovereign hand at work behind bars.
