Bulletin for October 15th, 2017

Welcome To Community Church! We continue our theme of Always Reforming for the month of October as we remember the Reformation 500 years ago! Today our theme is “WALK” as Pastor Ezra helps us focus on the importance of Discipleship in our walk with Christ! Pastor Ezra will help us go deeper with that at our evening service tonight. May God bless our worship today and help us as individuals and as a church to be Always Reforming!

Celebrating 31 Years: This Sunday we thank God for Pastor Dave’s 31 years of service to Christ as an ordained pastor at Community Church. May our Lord continue to bless his ministry as he shares God’s Word and serves Him at Community Church, shepherding the lost and discipling the found.

October Is Pastor Appreciation Month. If you would like to express your appreciation for Pastors Dave and Sandy and Ezra and Becky, there are baskets on the table for cards, gifts, and notes. We will place these baskets there each Sunday until the end of October.

Matching Gift Update: As previously shared, a matching gift of up to $2,000 was offered to help us raise funds for our Parking Lot Expansion during the month of October. So far for the month of October we have raised $381; which leaves $1,619 to be raised so we may take full advantage of this gift. You can help by collecting coins, pop cans, and joining us for a Soup & Pie Supper later this week. If you have questions, see the deacons.

– A Big Thank You Form Pastor Dave to everyone who remembered him with birthday cards, gifts and greetings this past week! They were all very much encouraging and appreciated!

– Charlie B. remains at Crestview for rehab. Let’s remember him and Peggy in prayer for healing and strength.

– A Sincere Thank You From Rick Robinson for the many prayers, visits and cards. Rick was discharged from Mary Free Bed this past Wednesday. He remains in a back brace through at least early December. If you wish to send a card, he is staying with his mom, Helen.

Truck Or Treat for the South Godwin Neighborhood on October 21 from 3 to 4:30 PM at Community Church and Southlawn Church of God. Refreshments served. Prizes for best decorated trunks at both locations! Mark your calendar to attend this fun event!

The ladies will offer a large bowl of homemade soup, a dinner roll and piece of homemade pie. Suggested Donation $5 per adult; $3 per child age 4  12; free for children age 3 & under. Pictorial Directory Update: Thank you to everyone who participated in the four days of photos with LifeTouch Photography. About 90% of our church family (regular church attendees) was photographed; the remaining families may speak with Dawn about other locations you may possibly get photographed; submit an updated picture; or we will submit the picture the church office has on file.
A big thank you to those that helped with set-up and clean-up, check-in, scheduling and reminder notes/calls. A special thank you to Karen Folkert and Dawn VanOost for their leadership, time and dedication to make this pictorial directory a great success.

Pray For The Persecuted: Amara & Jeremiah and their three children fled from Somali because of the persecution they suffered because they are Christians. They now live in a safe house in Kenya with their three children. They minister to young Somali women who also fled their country. They share their lives with them and lead them in Bible studies. Pray for these Christians who face persecution.
