Welcome To Community Church! We continue our theme of Always Reforming for the month of October as we remember the Reformation 500 years ago! Today our theme is “Mission” which helps us focus on the mission of the church. Pastor Dave will help us go deeper in our study of that tonight at our 6:00 PM service. May God bless our worship today and help us as individuals and as a church to be Always Reforming!
Next Sunday evening, we will culminate our celebration of Always Reforming by joining together with our sister churches at Cutlerville East CRC for a 5:00PM Always Reforming Worship Service. Let’s plan on being a part of this special worship celebration. Dr. Stan Mast will be bringing the message. Refreshments will be served afterwards. There will be no evening worship service at Community next Sunday.
Matching Gift Update: As previously shared, a matching gift of up to $2,000 was offered to help us raise funds for our Parking Lot Expansion during the month of October. As of last Sunday, for the month of October we have raised $531; which leaves $1,469 to be raised so we may take full advantage of this gift. You can help by collecting coins, pop cans, and special offerings. If you have questions, see the deacons.
Thanking God that the City of Wyoming approved the variances that are needed for Community Church to purchase the property on Wilbur for parking. Steps are being taken to complete the purchase process. More information will be shared as it becomes available.
Let’s Lift Our Brothers and Sister In Prayer for God’s blessing of healing, comfort, and strength; pray also for those caring for them.
– Carol S. fell this past week and broke bones in her pelvis. After spending days in the hospital she was able to go home; Kim Hackman and Christ Swanson are helping to care for her.
– Charlie B. returned home and will have in-home physical therapy to improve mobility and increased independence.
– Rick R. sent a thank-you card to the church family. It reads: “Dear Church Family, Thank you again for your prayers, your visits, and for that gigantic card many of you signed. Everyone who came into my hospital room said, ‘Wow! What a big card!’ When they opened it, they replied, ‘Your church must really care about you.’ –Rick Robinson”
October Is Pastor Appreciation Month. If you would like to express your appreciation for Pastors Dave and Sandi and Ezra and Becky, there are baskets on the table for cards, gifts, and notes. We will place these baskets there each Sunday until the end of October.
Teen Challenge Bible Study Meetings: Mondays at 7:00PM here at Community Church. If you are looking for help as you fight addiction and want to get grounded in the Word that will set you free, come on Monday nights to be a part of this Bible Study time. Information sheets can be found on the table in the lobby.
Mobile Food Truck: Saturday, October 28 at 10:00 AM. Registration to receive items from the truck is between 8:00 AM & 10:00 AM. If you know of a family that may benefit from this ministry, please take time to share info about our ministry.
Pray For The Persecuted: In Muslim-dominated Pakistan, Christians are second-class citizens; speaking about our Lord is against Islam, the Quran and Muhammad and can result in accusations of blasphemy, leading to arrest and even execution. Yet Christians still go to great lengths to get God’s Word into the hands and hearts of young believers so that they can continue to grow in the faith. Christian workers realize these young believers are the future of the church in Pakistan. Let’s lift Christians in persecuted areas in prayer; pray there may be revival among their populations and they would become Christian-dominated and laws would be changed so loss of life for their faith would no longer be a concern.
