Bulletin for September 24th, 2017

Welcome To Community Church! This morning we conclude our study of Habakkuk as we look at Habakkuk’s prayer for renewal! Our second offering today joins the efforts of North Godwin Elementary School to bring in their coins to help a school that was flooded near Houston. Let’s give to help those families in Houston who have been affected. This evening Pastor Dave will go deeper looking at what we can learn from this prayer. May God bless our time of worship together.

Always Reforming 30 Day Devotional: Men and women throughout the churches of Classis Grand Rapids South have created this devotional to celebrate 500 years of reformation. Starts Sunday October 1. You can get it online at: OneFaithManyFaces.org/always-reforming or in printed form from the table in the lobby.

Pastor Ezra is on vacation this week. He will return to the church office on Tuesday, October 2. If you have a need while he is away, please connect with Pastor Dave or a council member (deacon for a benevolence need or elder for other concern).

Picture Directory Update: Time slots to get family pictures taken are filling up nicely, but there are still many who have not chosen a time. If you have not, please choose a time for your family’s professional photo session today. The schedule is located on the counter outside the nursery. A reminder, each family will receive a free 8×10 and a free directory when they come in. You will be offered an opportunity to purchase additional photos, but you are under no obligation to buy.

Volunteers Are Needed to help check families in as they arrive for their photo session. If you are able to help in this area please sign up on the sheet provided on the information table.

-Rick R.’s condition continues to slowly improve and he was able to be transferred to Mary Free Bed. Let’s continue to remember Rick in prayer for healing and encouragement.

-Brian D. was admitted to Saint Mary’s hospital with breathing concerns. Let’s lift him in prayer for healing and strength.

40 Days Of Life is a focused pro-life campaign with a vision to access God’s power through prayer, fasting, and peaceful vigil to end abortion.

Life Chain Is Next Sunday, 2-4PM! Join others in forming a LIFE CHAIN along 44th Street as a peaceful demonstration against abortion. Those from our church will meet on the corner of 44th & Jefferson just a few minutes before 2 PM. If you have questions about this event, speak with Bonnie Thomas.

Pray For The Persected: For Christians facing Islamic extremists, it means being willing to give up everything for their faith—homes, possessions, and security. It may also mean severe maltreatment and possibly the loss of loved ones, or perhaps giving up their lives. For Christians here in America, it means standing with our brothers and sisters facing persecution while remembering them in our prayers and giving so they may be strengthened and encouraged, helping them survive and serve in the face of ongoing persecution.
