Bulletin for December 16th, 2018

Welcome To Community Church! On this third Sunday of Advent, we will continue listening to The Voice Of God At Christmas as we find it in Isaiah 40. We will also be celebrating communion this morning; everyone who believes in Jesus as their Savior and who commits to live their lives for Him are invited to join us for this sacrament. Parents and grandparents are asked to reflect on whether their children or grandchildren understand the significance of communion before letting them participate. May God bless our time of worship today!

Tonight’s Evening Service: Pastor Dave will be going deeper into HEARING GOD’S VOICE tonight. There will be one more evening service on Sunday, December 30 where we will celebrate communion for our final evening service.

Pastor Dave And Sandi will be making a quick trip to Iowa this week to see Sandi’s mom for her birthday. If you have a special need come up this week, you can contact Pastor Ezra, Bonnie T or one of the Elders. Pastor Dave will be back next Saturday.

Volunteers Needed: Sign up sheets are on the table in the lobby to volunteer in the positions of Greeter, Refreshment Server, Nursery Attendant, or Nursery Helper. Our goal is to schedule a volunteer in an area no more than once every two months. Please sign up today as the office hopes to have the schedule for January & February distributed in boxes by next Sunday.

South Godwin Neighborhood Christmas Party is this Thursday, December 20. The evening will begin with a potluck meal at 6:30 PM; everyone is asked to bring a dish to pass. There will be an opportunity to vote for the Best Decorated House; awards will be given at the party; must be present to win. If you live in the South Godwin Neighborhood plan to come Thursday evening for a time of food, fellowship and fun!

Wednesday Morning Ladies Bible Study will not meet the remainder of December.

The Banner is a magazine distributed monthly by the Christian Reformed Church for no charge. All members should receive it: if you do not please leave a note or message Dawn in the church office.

Budget Boxes For 2019: Each Budget Box provides a preprinted offering envelope for each Sunday of the year, allowing the user to prayerfully prepare their gift when budgeting during the week and offers convenient, discrete giving during Sunday service. If you received a Budget Box in 2018 you automatically received one for 2019.
● Contact or message Judy M or Bill H, to receive a Budget Box for 2019.

Council Notes
• The Council met this past week with our staff and heard reports from each one of them on their work and ministry. Our staff includes:
Pastor Ezra, Associate Pastor;
Dawn VanOost, Administrative Assistant;
Bonnie T, Pastoral Care Coordinator;
Nicole H, Outreach Coordinator;
Rebecca A, North Godwin Liaison;
Elizabeth Kt, Resource Coordinator;

We are thankful and blessed for all of these leaders to be helping us with our ministry at Community Church.
• The information regarding our Budget is that our General Fund deficit increased to almost $4,900 in November. Let’s continue to give faithfully and generously over the holiday season to meet the expenses of our church’s ministry.
