Bulletin For September 29th, 2019

Welcome To Community Church! Today we conclude our series of messages for September on GROWING YOUNG with the celebration of baptisms and professions of faith by Penny C. and her daughters,  Mary and Amanda ; Aaron H. and Mary and Sophila L. May God bless the time of worship that we have together!

Potluck after today’s service, we will celebrate with a potluck meal. Everyone is invited to stay and share in this time of fellowship and food together. Please note, Sunday School and adult small groups will not be meeting this morning.

Prayer Partners those of you who have been prayer partners with our children, teenagers and young people are asked to continue doing that for the month of October. If you would rather not continue, please let Pastor Dave know so that a replacement can be found.

SENT is a four-week Discipleship Series on Luke 10:1-24 that we, along with several other churches in our Classis, will focus on for the month of October. A daily devotional has been created to accompany our SENT series which begins on this morning and continues through October 27. The series will end with a special combined worship service held October 27 at Covenant Church at 5 PM. You can sign up to receive the devotional electronically by going to OneFaithManyFaces.org. Printed copies of the devotional will be available on the information table in the lobby for those who are not able to receive the devotional via phone text or email

Life Chain is next Sunday, October 6 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM. Life chain offers an opportunity to assemble along 44th St (our church family gathers at Jefferson). Each prays silently for life related issues such as the sins of abortion, euthanasia, assisted suicide and embryonic stem cell research. We hold signs with prayer ideas on the back. If you
need to sit, please bring a chair. The signs remind passersby that God loves and wants to protect human life in all of its stages. Signs will be available at the corner of 44th & Jefferson when we meet next Sunday. If you have any questions speak with Bonnie Thomas.

40 Days Of Life  this fall began Sept 25 and continues through November 3. This is an intentional time to pray to end abortions. Here in Grand Rapids we have the opportunity to pray in front of the abortion clinic, Heritage Clinic at 320 Fulton. Speak with Bonnie Thomas if you would like to go down and pray for an hour, for healing for mothers & fathers, for transformed minds of those who believe Satan’s lies, etc.
