Council Notes: September 2018

.) Pastor Dave updated us on the schedule for the Wilbur St. Parking lot which is where we are hopeful to get things going by the end of the month with the project completed this fall. Pray for God’s blessings upon these plans and the expected costs.

.) The Community Christian Internationale Church was discussed including that they had ten people at their first service last week. We are thankful for the opportunity that we have them on our premises and will continue to look for ways to partner and support them.

.) The special gifts team is being reformed to send out a giving letter to partners and to develop some grant requests regarding our Teach English as a second language, supporting a block outreach ministry, and forming a computer lab.

.) The different teams gave reports on their work and meetings and we are on our way in getting all our Ministry teams formed and meeting regularly.

.) Pastor Dave gave a report on his activities over the past month including leading services, attending meetings and other events, and making pastoral care calls and disciplining visits. He also shared from a book he’s reading called Canoeing The Mountains which talks about the need for church leadership to be adaptive to our changing culture. He complimented the council for some of their recent decisions which show their willingness to be adaptive for our church ministry.

.) The council approved August’s financial report which included giving which allowed us to reduce our General Fund deficit to just over $4,500. (It would have been less except for a semi annual insurance bill of $3,400 which added heavily to our monthly expenses.
