Helping to bring food to youth at our local school.
Each month Community Church brings a truck from Feeding America to our parking lot so we may distribute a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy products, and baked goods to 100-150 households in need.
These food items items are given free of charge and without judgement. There are no income or residency requirements, and recipients do not need to provide such documentation. Receiving items is easy, simply come and sign in during registration, receive a number, and collect food items during distribution.
For convenience, shopping carts are provided during distribution. Volunteers are available to help push the carts to collect food items and bring items to the recipients’ vehicles.
3rd SATURDAY of each month through the end of 2021
REGISTRATION is from 8 AM to 10 AM
DISTRIBUTION begins at 10 AM

Offering a hand-up rather than a hand-out by connecting neighbors to community resources which can offer crisis relief and long term stability.
We realize people grow more when they do, which is why our coordinators help equip neighbors with information and assistance, allowing our neighbor to take the next step toward stability.
Resources may include but is not limited to
assistance with medical, mental health, chemical dependency,
employment and training programs,
help signing up for public assistance through DHHS,
childcare, and subsidized housing opportunities.
Community Church partners with Hand to Hand Ministries to provide food for kids who may be facing weekend hunger.
It has our privilege to come along side Hand to Hand to help provide weekend food for at-risk youth at our local elementary school. Sacs consist of breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner items, nourishing more than just a child's physical needs. These sacs represent consistency, love, and demonstrates to all within in the home that people care. And ultimately that God cares.
With the heart of Jesus, Community Church volunteers gather every other week to put together sacs of weekend food, which are later distributed to West Godwin Elementary School.
Located within the South Godwin Neighborhood, we feel called to encouragement and support neighborhood residents by simply being here.
We are able to demonstrate the love of Christ by being available to meet and converse with our neighbors to offer pastoral care, prayer and help find resources when there is a need.
We supporting to our neighborhood association by offering our facility for regular meetings, lending tables, chairs and games for some events, as well as providing some volunteers.
During the school year volunteers have an opportunity to spend an hour a week to mentor at a local elementary school.
Mentors spend time reading, helping with schoolwork, projects and more.
Volunteers also help with some school wide events, such as good attendance ceremonies, backpack giveaways, and school carnivals.
While mentoring at a local school is not a "church" activity used to introduce individuals to Christ, youth and staff see his love through volunteers.
